I’m sure you’ve heard the word “detox” with reference to armpits… but what does that really mean? Well we’re here to clear up the confusion. First and foremost, conventional deodorants are designed to mask the smell of body odour and antiperspirants are designed to clog your sweat glands. What happens when you wear conventional deodorant for awhile is your armpits begin to become hubs for bacteria growth and when antiperspirant is used your armpits can’t properly regulate themselves. What this means for you is that when you first switch to natural deodorant you may experience changes in your armpits. Most commonly, this means more sweating than usual. This is not a permanent change however, it’s just part of the “detox” stage.
During the detox stage, there are some things you can do to speed up the process your body is undergoing. One simple thing you can do is to wet your armpits with apple cider vinegar in the morning before applying deodorant with a spray bottle or paper towel (just make sure your armpits are dry before applying Frisk). Additionally, you can drink more water than usual to help speed up the process. Lastly, you must trust the process and refrain from applying antiperspirant or conventional deodorant while you’re detoxing as this will prolong the detox phase.
Luckily Frisk no.1 is infused with activated charcoal, making the deodorant super absorbing and thus speeding up the detox period. We challenge you to try an armpit detox with Frisk, you deserve it. Trust us, within a couple weeks you will be more confident lifting your arms over your head after a long day with Frisk on then you were when you’d wear your conventional counterpart. Now what are you waiting for… it’s time to leave your toxic ex ;)
